Lapalud, born on 22 September 1868 in Miliana, Algeria, was a French colonial official. After holding various positions in the colonial administration in the Congo and India, he was governor of Gabon in 1918 and made it to governor-general of French Equatorial Africa in 1920 before serving as governor of the Ivory Coast in 1925.
