animal skin, three parts (sole, upper leather, shaft), with small patterned trimmings made of brightly colored leather strips
Traditionally, women have the technical skills needed to make the "kamiks". The older women pass on their knowledge orally to the younger ones. The production of the "kamik" is very complex and time-consuming. They are traditionally made from caribou, seal or elk skin.
