wood, greyish brown patina, traces of black paint, vaulted "mask face" with broad see slits and pierced forehead- and nose crest, openworked superstructure with drilled holes on upper end for attachment of ornament, pierced ears, drilled holes all around rim, slightly dam., missing parts (above all at the lower rim), abrasion of paint, metal base; this type of masks appears in large numbers during male initiation ceremonies. They are part of the "okumpa" masquerade.
