wood, pigments, tin-sheet, glass bead, plant fibre, mass, fabric, traces of insect caused damage, base This dance crest is particularly impressive because of the naturalistic way it is presented. All comparable anthropomorphic dance crests that could be found in the literature are from a very early period. One crest, for example, which is in the Ethnological Museum in Berlin, was collected on site by the famous German ethnologist Leo Frobenius (1873-1938) (AHDRC 0154903). A second is in the Völkermuseum in Leipzig (AHDRC 0090541) and a third in the Paolo Morighi Collection (AHDRC 0090539).
