We are delighted to present historically significant works from a Munich private collection which is closely linked to the Linden-Museum and Ludwig Bretschneider. These include this extraordinary friction drum, the shape and form of which was only carved in New Ireland, making it unique to the Oceanic region.
Other curated collections: Africa and Japan from the Werner Zintl Collection (Part 2). Oceania plus weapons and shields from Africa from the Alexander Kubetz Collection (Part 2). Pre-Columbian ceramics from the Moche and Nazca cultures from the Klaus Kalz estate (Part 1).
