heavy wood, brown patina, pokerwork, of oval form with simplified facial features, beard, brows and coiffure blackened, cheek and forehead scarifications, min. dam., fine cracks, slight traces of abrasion, base;
the Mwera are a small ethnical group living in the south-eastern coastal back-country of Tanzania. Their works can only hardly be differentiated from masks and figures of the neighbouring Makonde.
