The figure shows a beautiful rich patina, which is heavily rubbed in the mouth-nose area and on the belly. She wears an elaborate hairstyle and is richly decorated with scarification marks on her belly.
The position of the arms is particularly striking. This can be found in a series of other small female figures, all of whom are crowning "kibango" staffs of office (cf. AHDRC 0031313, 0031314, 0031326). According to Nooter they represent foundresses of certain royal lines or other historically documented female characters.
