wood, iron, brass wire, paint, cord, remains of an old collection label
The front of the scabbard is carved in flat relief with a multitude of ancestral heads. It is traditionally coloured in red and black and has a snake's head at the end as a symbol for the so-called "hundred-step snake". The back of the scabbard is open, the sword with iron blade is held by ornamentally moulded brass wire.
